Just 2 km outside Killarney, Ross Castle, which is believed to date from the 15th century, is the ancestral seat of the O’Donoghue Ross in County Kerry. This is really magical place to visit – a truly beautiful setting for the castle.
You can take a boat trip on the lake and admire the wonderful Killarney countryside while you are here. On my visit here in June 2010, the cost of the boat trip was 10euro for an adult. The trip lasts about an hour and is in a covered water bus.
